Communion Classes offered for 5th Graders

Home - Connect - Ministries - Children & Family Ministries - Children (Birth-6th grade) - News - Communion Classes offered for 5th Graders Fifth grade children, and older, and their families have a wonderful opportunity to participate in our church’s Communion classes led by Reverend Hamilton Throckmorton and Reverend Mark Simone.

These classes will be held on Thursday February 23 and Tuesday February 28 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm in the Lounge at Bell Street. Designed with 5th graders and their parents in mind, classes focus on the meaning and mystery of the Sacrament and include lecture, dialogue, small group discussion and fellowship.

The last evening ends with a beautiful and moving chapel service during which the children will take communion together. Children completing the class will be recognized during worship  services on March 6.

The Lord’s Supper is at the very core of our faith, making this a most meaningful step in the religious journey of these children. Also invited to participate in these classes and Communion are 6th, 7th and 8th graders and their families who have been unable to attend in past years or are new to the church.

Children completing the class will be recognized on Youth Sunday, March 5.
