Welcome – About Federated – Stewardship
As Christians, we are scripturally called to give generously of our time, talent, and treasure. All three elements are essential to developing our generosity, with no single element elevated in importance above the others. We believe that God models generosity by freely giving us all that we need.
In gratitude, we are to “pay it forward” by freely giving of ourselves. We also believe stewardship should be woven into nearly everything we do at Federated. Worship and sermons should deal directly with stewardship topics throughout the year. Education programs should teach stewardship principles to children, youth, and adults. Financial decisions should model the behaviors that we seek from the congregation. We are challenging our pastors, lay leaders, and the congregation to wrestle with the question of how we respond to God’s generosity in our lives. Ultimately, we hope to begin a spiritual journey that leads Federated to a fully engaged discipleship of giving.
Stewardship is not merely something that we do once a year in the fall to fund Federated’s mission giving and church programs. Rather, it is a series of daily decisions, large and small, about how we use the resources God has provided. Let us respond to the grace and blessings in our lives by becoming the mindful stewards God intends us to be.
