Interfaith Hospitality Network

The Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) of Greater Cleveland is a private, non-profit organization providing hospitality, meals, and support to homeless families through a network of religious congregations. IHN mobilizes Greater Cleveland’s religious community to respond to the needs of our community’s most vulnerable: homeless families. Federated Church is part of the network.

Dates for 2010 are :

August 15-28 (two weeks)
and
November 28 - Dec 5 (one week)

Try a new type of entertaining!

We are eagerly looking forward to our next Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) host week. Prayerfully consider how you, your family or your Church group can best serve these precious families during their stay with our Church family.

Prior to each host period, sign up boards are available in the lobby detailing what is needed. What follows is a general list of what we need anyime we host a group of IHN guests.

We need ‘stuff’:

Food items from the ‘shopping list’ for breakfasts and bagged lunches
Grocery and K-Mart/Wal-Mart gift cards
Items to help make the evenings more fun (to borrow or keep): kids’ scooters, bikes, roller blades, helmets. Labeled donations may be left at the Family Life Center in or next to the ‘IHN’ bin

We need time:

Volunteers to help prepare evening meals- sign up for main dish, starch, veggie, or dessert on the day that works best for you (THIS IS A GREAT OUTREACH FOR YOUR SERVICE GROUP OR OTHER GROUP!!!)
Volunteers to share two hours with our guests enjoying a meal, playing games, socializing, just ‘being’
Volunteers to spend overnight hours, 9pm – 7:30am, at the Family Life Center during our host week, cots provided- a wonderful family mission
Volunteers for a couple hours to help prepare the rooms for our guests’ arrival Sunday and clean-up after their departure
