This class introduces beginning and continuing students to body awareness through yoga alignment principles. This class focuses on skillful conscious movement using key yoga postures, infusing fundamental breathing techniques, centering and meditation. Class has a strong anatomical focus and guides you through a course of therapeutic techniques to promote strength, facilitate healing, overcome tension, and perfect relaxation. The class teaches modifications and has a strong emphasis on the use of yoga props which are provided by the teacher.
Through the practice of asana, we learn to accept our limitations, are truthful to our commitment to do our best and are content regardless of the outcome. We bring enthusiasm and curiosity to class and look deeply at our reactions and responses to difficulty and ease and ultimately surrender to something greater than ourselves.
