Junior High School (7th & 8th grades)
Federated Church provides programming for junior high students in several areas.
Sunday morning Church School
Church school is also offered for this age group on Sunday mornings during the worship service from September through May, with the exception of holiday and Communion Sundays when families are encouraged to worship together. Junior High Church School is an exploration in Faith, giving the kids the tools they need to develop their own beliefs and deal with the challenges of being a teenager in this fast-paced, constantly changing world.
J.O.Y. (Jesus Oriented Youth) Youth Group
The major focus of junior high programming is J.O.Y. (Jesus Oriented Youth) which meets on Sunday afternoons from September through May at the Family Life Center. J.O.Y. is designed to encourage acceptance and understanding between our youth, their peers, their parents and God. Unless otherwise noted, J.O.Y meetings happen from 4:30p -6:15pm at the Family Life Center.
J.O.Y. is planned and supervised by Marty Culbertson and volunteer adult advisors interested in the personal and spiritual growth of early teenagers. The program is open to all 7th & 8th grade junior high school age youth regardless of denominational background or school affiliation.
Programming includes weekly meetings and special events covering:
Discussion & reflection
Fellowship & recreation
This age group is also encouraged to participate in the Colorado Trip which travels each summer to the Rocky Mountains for a spiritual wilderness experience.
