10:00 and 11:30 am

The rafters will ring with joyful Hosannas at the beginning of each service as we recreate the excitement of Jesus' ride into Jerusalem with a palm processional featuring the littlest among us. Jubilant songs will give way to somber, plaintive hymns in preparation for the journey into darkness that comes before the dawn of Easter.

8:00 pm (Pre-service music at 7:30)

The Federated Choirs will be presenting a cantata "The Lenten Sketches" by Joseph Martin.Inspired by the life and message of Jesus Christ, artists in every medium have endeavored to capture the magnificence of Christ’s ministry among us. From poets and painters to singers and sculptors, the human spirit has long labored to convey through artistic expression the profound depths of faith.

“The Lenten Sketches” is a musical, oral and visual portrayal of some of the important scenes in the last days of Jesus’ life. According to the composer, the “sketches” are intended to “build a frame to cradle God’s Masterpiece of grace.” Narration and engravings by Gustave Doré (1832-1883) complement the music and help to portray the story. We hope you will plan to join us for this powerful worship service.
