* While our Sanctuary at Bell Street is undergoing renovations we are worshipping at our Family Life Center at a single 10 am service.  The date for returning to  the Bell Street Sanctuary is November 18. We will remain at a 10 am service until December 2, when we begin a new two service structure.

10am or 11:30am*: WHICH TIME WORKS FOR YOU?

In worship at The Federated Church, we joyfully embody the living Spirit of God – glorifying God through scripture and sermon, music and prayer, silence and sound. We invite people to pursue God wholeheartedly in a personal and a corporate way and to be transformed. We strive for justice and inclusiveness following Jesus’ example of love and celebrate the diversity of God’s creation knowing that every person is uniquely made in God’s image.

RISE to Shine! - Our New Worship Schedule

Sunday mornings at Federated, get ready to RISE! Council’s Task Force for Re-Imagining the Sunday Experience gathered your reactions to five prototypes for re-imagining a worship experience that opens our doors and horizons to new light. Beginning in December and throughout this program year the congregation will float possibilities in action.

At February’s Annual Meeting, a goal to “Re-Imagine the Sunday Experience” set up a team and spun the wheels in motion. The charge was to imagine the kind of worship experience that responds to the needs of a younger generation and that cultivates a rich sense of the presence of God in fresh and relevant ways. Using tools for design thinking, members of the task force hosted input sessions across the summer, designed bare-bones prototypes to spur active feedback from our staff and congregants, and then analyzed the information gathered along the way to discover trends, needs and passions.

We stand ready to breathe life into the favored and viable features to test-run a model, play with ideas and possibilities, and continue to innovate, tweak and refine across the year.

Throughout November, even as we re-enter our 76 Bell Sanctuary, we will continue a united worship at 10 am. Then, starting the first Sunday in Advent (December 2) we will dedicate two distinct worship times and styles. Our traditional worship will run 10-11 am, with the richness and invitational welcome of our Federated Choirs and Sunday School. Then from 11:30 am-12:15 pm, we offer “Rise to Shine” to shine God’s light in spirited, eclectic and relevant worship, featuring excellent music and participation alongside an enriching sermon.

We encourage the congregation’s participation, input and promotion of “Rise to Shine” to friends and family to help Federated move toward God’s promising and thriving future at Federated “for this generation and the next.”

Spirited. Relational. Relevant.

Come: let’s grow a church with soul and spirit…together!

We love infants and toddlers at Federated!  We are committed to providing a clean, safe, and age appropriate environment for your little ones while you attend church service.  Our paid child care providers have undergone full background checks and drug screening.  They are consistently here for easy transitions when parting with your child.  Our goal for our nursery is to model God’s love for your child by providing quality care. We also have a Parents Room adjacent to the Sanctuary on Bell Street where parents can worship with their little ones.

Sunday School for those little ones through age 5 will take place in Kids Cove (Room 20) using First Look, a curriculum designed specifically for the littlest learners.  This curriculum focuses on communicating three basic truths to preschoolers through the use of Bible stories, videos, activities, music and crafts.

These truths are:
    *God made me.
    *God loves me.
*Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Sunday School is offered for this age group. Upon arrival parents or guardians are asked to sign in child/ren at the desk located in the downstairs Lobby or at the small table in the Narthex behind the Sanctuary.  Please make time to arrive early enough to include this check-in process so we can obtain valuable allergy information.

The children will begin the morning in the Sanctuary.  They will be excused after the children's moment in the service to go to Sunday School, which takes place on the second floor of the educational wing.  Children should be picked up from the second floor classrooms following the service.

At Discovery Island we use a rotation curriculum called Deep Blue.  Deep Blue allows children to experience a Bible story through art, cooking, games, mission, science, spiritual practices, storytelling and drama, allowing them to interact and creatively explore God’s wondrous world.  As a result, each Bible story and its meaning will stay with them for life!

Our Children's Choir sings in worship monthly, more or less, and presents a Christmas Musical in December.

This group is open to children in 1st through 8th grades.  The group rehearses on Mondays from 4-4:45pm from September through May.

Contact director Pat Haynish at for more information.

Each month during the school year a special event is planned for families with young children by our Family Ministries.

Our youth groups meet on Sunday afternoons.  The group for junior high age kids is called J.O.Y. (Jesus Oriented Youth) and the group for high school youth is called...wait for it...GROUP!
