In worship at The Federated Church, we joyfully embody the living Spirit of God – glorifying God through scripture and sermon, music and prayer, silence and sound. We invite people to pursue God wholeheartedly in a personal and a corporate way and to be transformed. We strive for justice and inclusiveness following Jesus’ example of love and celebrate the diversity of God’s creation knowing that every person is uniquely made in God’s image.

Sunday mornings at Federated, get ready to RISE!

Our traditional worship runs 10-11 am, with the richness and invitational welcome of our Federated Choirs and Sunday School. Students can start in the Sanctuary with their families, where they will be released to Sunday School.

Then from 11:30 am-12:15 pm, we offer “RISE to Shine” to shine God’s light in spirited, eclectic and relevant worship, featuring excellent music and participation alongside an enriching sermon. This shortened service was designed to respond to the needs of a younger generation and cultivate a rich sense of the presence of God in fresh and relevant ways. It is more proressive/modern than our traditional service. Spirited. Relational. Relevant. Come: let’s grow a church with soul and spirit…together!

We love infants and toddlers at Federated!  We are committed to providing a clean, safe, and age appropriate environment for your little ones while you attend church service.  Our paid child care providers have undergone full background checks and drug screening.  They are consistently here for easy transitions when parting with your child.  Our goal for our nursery is to model God’s love for your child by providing quality care. We also have a Parents Room adjacent to the Sanctuary on Bell Street where parents can worship with their little ones.

Room G20 is available for those little ones infant through age 5 at both the 10:00 Traditional Service and the 1130 RISE to Shine service. The first half of the service is reserved for free play, and then there is also a short Sunday School lesson that takes place using First Look, a curriculum designed specifically for the littlest learners.  This curriculum focuses on communicating three basic truths to preschoolers through the use of Bible stories, videos, activities, music and crafts.

These truths are:
    *God made me.
    *God loves me.
*Jesus wants to be my friend forever.

Sunday School is offered for this age group at the Traditional service at 10:00 am. Upon arrival parents or guardians are asked to sign in child/ren at the desk located in the downstairs Lobby.  Please make time to arrive early enough to include this check- in process so we can obtain valuable allergy information.

The children will begin the morning in the Sanctuary with their families to enjoy the worship experience.  They will be excused about 5-10 minutes after the worship starts (excused times are marked in the bulletin each Sunday).  Sunday school takes place in Room 220.  Children should be picked up from the second floor immediately following the service.

Sunday School uses a curriculum called A Joyful Path.  This behavior-over beloef approach allows children to connect with their inner wisdom.  It teaches interdependence, self-awareness, respect for nature and others, stillness, forgiveness, prayer and meditation.  Using the Bible and other wisdom stories children will learn how to follow the path of Jesus in today’s world.

Our Children's Choir sings in worship monthly, more or less, and presents a Christmas Musical in December.

This group is open to children in 1st through 8th grades.  The group rehearses on Mondays from 4-4:45pm from September through May.

Each month during the school year a special event is planned for families with young children by our Family Ministries.

Our youth groups meet on Sunday afternoons.  The group for junior high age kids is called J.O.Y. (Jesus Oriented Youth) and the group for high school youth is called...wait for it...GROUP!
