The 2024-2025 Performing Arts Series season begins with pianist and piano technician Brian Wilson! 

Experience an evening of works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Martin as played by pianist Brian Wilson.  Mr. Wilson has long served as a master piano technician, specializing in maintenance of pianos from all eras.  He has worked as the chief technician at Federated Church for at least 25 years.

 

Brian Wilson was actively involved in selecting and has exclusively worked on Federated Church’s wonderful Mason & Hamlin concert grand since its purchase in 2021.  A special highlight of this concert program will be a discussion and display of what makes this Mason & Hamlin piano so remarkable!

In Tribute to Rev. Hamilton Throckmorton: the Arts and Faith
We invite you to celebrate the incredible career of our retiring Senior Pastor, Rev. Hamilton Throckmorton! 

Rev. Throckmorton is a lifelong supporter and appreciator of the arts. The musicians of Federated Church will present a program of works in his honor that have been particularly inspiring to him throughout his life.  Visual art and important prose will serve as a backdrop to the evening.  The Federated Choir will be joined by a guest chamber orchestra, other Federated musicians, and special guest soloists under the direction of conductor Joshua Konow.  Running approximately two hours, this is a night definitely not to be missed!

The King's Brass: Christmas Celebration

The King’s Brass: Christmas Celebration
The long-awaited return of the King’s Brass to the Federated Church is here!

 

This special Christmas Celebration concert will present many of your favorite Christmas classics with a contemporary flair.  The King’s Brass features three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards. These instruments blend together to create a time of innovative worship that will be enjoyed by all generations.

Secular and sacred music critics alike applaud their concerts as “superb in every way” and “innovative and well played.” “Truly, an unforgettable experience!”.  Tickets are $30-$50 and student tickets are $10.

Voices from the Other Side: evocative chamber works for cello octet with soprano
in collaboration with the Cleveland Cello Society and composer Margi Griegling-Haigh

 

Included are Arvo Pärt’s tintinnabuli-style Fratres and his L’abbé Agathon and the beloved Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 by Heitor Villa-Lobos.

Cleveland composer Margi Griebling-Haigh’s Voices from the Other Side sets three otherworldly poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay and Cantilena which allow the cellists to shine individually and together.


Featuring cellists (in alphabetical order) Ralph Curry, David Ellis, Khari Joyner, Julie Myers-King, Robert Nicholson, Gabriel Ramos, Jeff Singler, and Richard Weiss. Steven Smith, conductor. Gabrielle Haigh, soprano.  Tickets are $25-$45 and student tickets are $10.

Music Within: Baldwin Wallace Men's Chorus with the University School Glee Club

Newly appointed conductor Devon Steve brings his voice to the Baldwin Wallace Men’s Chorus for his inaugural season. Joined by the US Glee Club, this concert of uplifting works will surely inspire!  Devon Steve grew up with the Cleveland Boys’ Choir and is excited to return to Federated Church!
