Meet the Candidate
Rev. Michael Anthony Howard
We are pleased to introduce Rev. Michael Anthony Howard as the candidate recommended by the Senior Pastor Search Committee to serve as the next Senior Pastor of Federated Church.
Pastor Michael brings more than 20 years of senior pastoral and organizational leadership experience within United Church of Christ and ecumenical settings. Throughout the search process, our congregation identified key priorities for our next senior pastor: visionary leadership, strong preaching and teaching, pastoral presence, community engagement, and intergenerational ministry. The Search Committee believes Pastor Michael embodies these qualities and has unanimously endorsed him as our candidate.
We now enter the final step of this shared season of discernment.
Candidating Weekend
February 28 – March 1

Meet & Greet – Fellowship Hall

• 2:15 PM – Brief remarks from Pastor Michael
• Informal time for conversation
Sunday, March 1 | 10:00 AM Worship
Pastor Michael will preach during worship.
11:15 AM – Special Congregational Meeting
Members will vote on whether to extend a Call to Pastor Michael to serve as Senior Pastor.
The meeting will be held in person and via Zoom.
Understanding the Vote
In accordance with our church governance:
A quorum of active members must be present (either in person or online).
A two-thirds majority vote is required to extend a Call.
We encourage all members to participate in this important and hopeful moment in the life of our congregation.
We look forward to gathering as a congregation to pray, listen, and move forward together as we step into this new season at Federated Church.
