SUNDAY MORNINGS
WORSHIP
In worship at The Federated Church, we joyfully embody the living Spirit of God – glorifying God through scripture and sermon, music and prayer, silence and sound. We invite people to pursue God wholeheartedly in a personal and a corporate way and to be transformed. We strive for justice and inclusiveness following Jesus’ example of love and celebrate the diversity of God’s creation knowing that every person is uniquely made in God’s image.
Sunday mornings at Federated, get ready to RISE!
Our traditional worship runs 10-11 am. You can join us in person in the Sanctuary, or tune in online at YouTube.com/TheFederatedChurch.
FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN
ROOM 230- BIRTH THRU PRE-SCHOOL
This bright and colorful room is full of toys, books, coloring pages and love. Here, each week, two of our three childcare providers will greet you and your kiddos any time after 9:30 am on Sunday morning. During the service they will read an uplifting picture book and often lead a related activity or game. There will also be plenty of time for free play. Water and snacks will be made available. Our goal is to provide a positive introduction to coming to church and a beginning familiarity with some stories that teach that God loves us and is always with us.
ROOM 240- KINDERGARTEN THRU 5TH GRADE
At this age, kiddos will begin their time at church in the service until they are dismissed, usually during the passing of the peace. They will be met in the narthex and guided upstairs where they will begin their own time of worship. Each week, the kiddos will spend some time getting to know God by getting to know each other and often by getting to know the same bible story being shared in “big church” through picture books, games, activities and crafts. Our goal is to teach positive spiritual behavior over belief based on the model of Jesus and that we are all children of God with an inner wisdom on which we can rely.
ROOM 220- 6TH THRU 8TH GRADE
Middle school Sunday School also begins once kiddos are dismissed from the service. They will meet every Sunday except the first Sunday of the month allowing kiddos to worship with their families on communion Sundays and begin to experience the fullness of time in the sanctuary. This class will use a lectionary-based curriculum written for younger teens. It helps guide students into the text, and through a series of open-ended, text-related questions, they begin to see the Bible as a vital, dynamic relevant resource–one that can inform them throughout their lives. We will also use games and journaling to get to know ourselves and each other. Our goal is to help these students begin to apply what they have learned in church and Sunday School to their daily lives as they begin to make more challenging decisions and grow into young adults.
